SELECTION OF PAINTINGS FOR THE 1ST. NATIONAL TAGORE EXHIBITION OF PAINTINGS 2019
Members of the Jury met on 14 and 15 September 2019 at AISECT New Delhi to select the paintings from the images received from the artists . The paintings were projected with their reference number only and not with the name of the artists . This was done to have a fair and transparent selection of works only on the basis of their merit . Though it was a bit tedious job to go through such a large number of paintings , all the members meticulously evaluated the merit of the works and after three rounds they unanimously selected 175 artists ( 185 paintings) .

JURY'S COMMENT
Choosing 175 entries from 650 was not an easy job. But, it was an enthralling experience to see the works of so many pan Indian young artists. For jury, this selection process was challenging but it also gave a very satisfactory reason to remain assured on the bright future of contemporary Indian art. Manish Pushkale / Milan Das / Yusuf
